who are we?
meet the gals that make up obstreperous ostrich, a jewelry store that creates one of a kind wonderful for a one of a kind you!
odette: the spokesostrich
at the final interview i boomed. i growled. i ululated. i was quite clamorous and raucous. i was sure when I left that the journalist would get the job.
you could have knocked me over with a feather when i heard that the job was mine! after nearly six years i've come to love the girls and i absolutely love my job!
elizabeth: the capitalist pig
after spending around twenty years in the non-profit sector, it is a bit odd to find myself in the role of "capitalist pig", but here we are. i am the product of the district 51 public school system in western colorado and the school of hard knocks. i knew nothing about business until starting this one. after six years i found out the big secret: no one else does either.
while i take care of the behind the scenes stuff like, keeping track of the inventory and the taxes (yuck), i also get to do the fun stuff like selling. i love going to all the shows and getting to meet all of you. since i didn't grow up with computers it has been a kick figuring out how to get the website going and the joys of social media.
i'm so glad that you are here!
cindy: the talent
my real name may or may not be cindy. i am the shy and reclusive artist, NOT the philodendrum. making one of a kind wonderful things for you is what i do.
i started painting only a year before starting obstreperous ostrich. honestly, i wouldn't have ever started painting if elizabeth hadn't drug me to art galleries and museums. now i can't stop painting and creating. i find something wondrous and breathtaking in everything i make be it a painting, a necklace, or a bookmark.
things did move sort of fast, one year i'm happily painting in my studio and then the next i'm partner in a jewelry business. i don't even WEAR jewelry but hey, that is sort of what happens when fate intervenes.
